Just for the fun of it please try Easy Tank COMMBAT, a remake of the COMBAT game cartridge which came as standard issue with the popular ATARI® 2600 Video Computer System (TM).   True to the original, it allows two player battles with both opponents using the same computer console.  Two player battles using two separate computers linked through a network connection is also supported.  In addition, five levels of artificial intelligence provide excellent opponents to help in the development of a winning strategy.  Crafted by an engineer skilled in making difficult things seem trivial, this program is so simple to operate that even a corporate executive can successfully use it.

If you are not planning to host any networked battles, then use the guest version of Easy Tank COMMBAT.  The guest program does not need to be installed, and is not protected in any way.  The guest program contains the full simulation, the only limitation is the inability to host a networked session.  In networked battles the guest version can only connect to a session hosted by the regular version.

The idea is that you purchase the full version for your computer and then freely pass out the guest program to your associates (victims). There are no additional hidden or ongoing costs such as service subscriptions or periodic license renewals.  The game will fully function for as long as you decide to use it. YOU NEED NO SPECIAL GAMING HARDWARE of any kind. 

If you already have multiple computers in your home which are not networked, know that all of your systems have a serial port.  A 10-foot DB-25 serial cable to connect two of them is about $5.  If you and your opponent both have telephone service and dial-up modems, then you don't even need the internet to make a remote connection.  With Easy Tank COMMBAT you can have a blast over a LAN, the internet, a serial cable or telephone modem connection, and you'll always have the greatest choice of opponents.
